Start-up raises £50M funding to develop technology which uses the body’s microbiome to discover and develop medicines
The Cambridge-based start-up Microbiotica Ltd. has raised £50M funding to develop technology which uses the body’s resident bacteria in the microbiome to discover and develop medicines for a range of disorders. This is the largest microbiome-related financing in Europe to date! The human body’s gut microbiome controls our health, disease and drug responses throughout our bodies and can therefore be a novel type of medicine, with potential to be a major new approach to therapeutics for a range of disorders.
