MARBLES introduced at the European Researchers’ Night 2021
The annual European Researcher’s Night brings scientific research and the people behind it to the general public in a fun and practical way, relating the research to daily life.
For the tenth consecutive year and at the same time in 371 other European cities, the European Researchers’ Night took place on 24 September 2021. MARBLES was presented on the night by our partner Fernando Reyes of the MEDINA Foundation (MEDINA) in Granada, Spain. Fernando’s talk entitled ‘MARBLES, a project to search for new antibiotics of marine origin’, introduced the project, MEDINA’s involvement and the overall goal of MARBLES to search for new antibiotics from marine microorganisms as a starting point for the treatment of infections in humans, plants and fish.
