NAICONS launches the MICRO4ALL Platform
MARBLES partner NAICONS (Italy) has set up the MICRO4ALL Platform, a vast online database of naturally occurring molecules that are both known and yet to be identified.
The world needs sustainable solutions in human and veterinary medicine, agriculture, and other fields to deal with the aging and growing population. Drug R&D programmes are expensive and time-consuming with success an uncertainty. Therefore, it is imperative that novel medical drugs be developed more quickly and effectively. Historically, numerous uses for natural molecules have been discovered and used to treat and prevent illnesses in people, animals and plants. Therefore, natural molecules offer a proven and sustainable approach to increase the productivity of the R&D process.
MICRO4ALL is an online database that allows different searches of over 150,000 natural molecules in ready-to-screen samples produced by NAICONS proprietary microbes. Once molecules of interest are identified, they are easy to access. You can search molecules using different chemical parameters, identify those produced by a particular bacterial genus and see how many samples contain a specific molecule.
If you are interested in drug discovery for human, animal and plant health or in finding natural molecules for cosmetics, fragrances and additives then the MICRO4ALL Platform provides access to natural molecules. The Platform accelerates R&D research, offering a single location to search for data, making natural molecules easily accessible for a variety of uses.
